SeekGround - thank you for a sensible reply. You got my point and question right on the nose. Your point about not worrying about friending back because on FriendFeed I already get much of what he says (at least from service of his that aren't already filtered out) via other people that I have friended.

Wayne .. chill bud it's the weekend - you know that time for fun and frolic. I wrote the post partly out of humor but it sure seems the blogosphere has lost its funny bone.

It was also about the larger issue of 'friending' which I tend to talk about a lot - it just so happens that Robert provided the subject matter for the post - so a blend of humor and valid points - is there anything wrong with that?

It appears that @Scobleizer is generating a lot of interesting conversations over at FriendFeed since he is now actively using FriendFeed and proclaiming how much he likes it. Let me emphasize the "a lot." I hope they stay interesting and don't degenerate. Anway, I've always been in the camp of if you don't like the information flowing from a particular source then unsubscribe, unfriend, filter it out, etc but I don't want to hear your complaints about it. This is the opposite though. I have found your views of who to friend and the research that you go through before friending someone back interesting. I am sure that this is putting all of those theories to the test. He says he finds you interesting but that doesn't mean that he will have time to read every piece of output from everyone that he finds interesting. Should you feel obligated to friend him back and try to keep up with the flow of information that surrounds him? I don't think you should feel that obligation. You probably see plenty of it anyway through those of us that do subscribe to him that you also follow. I don't particular mind the volume of information myself except for it means that I see less of the content produced by everyone else I am following.

Wow - is this what blogging evolves to - bloggers blogging about other bloggers?

Can I call "market top" on Blogging or has someone else already done it?

Just a heads up, over at FriendFeed you can subscribe to Robert but set it to where you no longer get his Twitters/Jaiku in your feed... Find a twitter from him and click on the "More" link... then click on "Hide Entries Like This..." and then pick which option you like from the self explanatory form. ("Hide all" -or- "Hide unless there is likes/comments" ). Pretty useful for freindfeed overload (especially from the scobleizer).

I know what you mean. I resubscribed to Scoble because I miss his insights, but after only a few hours I'm wondering if I really want that noise. The really good stuff is usually tweeted by other people anyhow...
